‘Famous Monsters of Filmland’ in attendance plans to conjure up scary surprises!

One of Frankenstein’s sons finds his father’s monster in a coma and revives him, only to find he is controlled by Ygor who is bent on revenge.

Son of Frankenstein (Universal Studios, 1939) has perhaps the greatest horror film cast ever – Boris Karloff gives his farewell performance as the creature, and Bela Lugosi’s portrayal of Ygor is creepy, roguish, even pitiable. Basil Rathbone plays Baron Wolf Frankenstein, and watch for scene-stealer Lionel Atwill, who delivers his definitive screen role as the one-arm Inspector Krogh. Filmed on the Universal Studio lot under the direction of Rowland V. Lee, this first-rate production gave a whole new meaning to Baron Frankenstein’s famous shout out: ‘It’s alive!’ Trivia: Mel Brooks’ ‘Young Frankenstein’ is an homage to ‘Son of Frankenstein.’
