  • This event has passed.

The safety and health of the Alex Theatre’s patrons, employees, visiting artists, and companies is always the top priority of Glendale Arts, the Theatre’s management company. Therefore, in light of the devastating spread and impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and in compliance with Governor Gavin Newsom’s mandate regarding public gatherings:

All performances through April 5th at the Alex Theatre are cancelled.

We are in communication with the presenters of these shows regarding rescheduling, and patrons who have purchased tickets for the events affected by the cancellations will be contacted at the earliest possible regarding new performance dates, refunds, and related details. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work as quickly as we can through this unprecedented situation.

The Alex Film Society proudly presents a screening of THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER (1955).

Directed by Charles Laughton and starring Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, and Lillian Gish, THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER is a tense crime thriller with one of the most unforgettable villains of American cinema.

Presented on 35mm film in glorious black & white and hosted by Alan K. Rode of the Film Noir Foundation. Raffle ticket proceeds help support the Alex Film Society.
