Los Angeles Ballet’s production of The Sleeping Beauty has been rescheduled to June 2021.

We are in communication with the presenters of these shows regarding rescheduling, and patrons who have purchased tickets for the events affected by the cancellations will be contacted at the earliest possible regarding new performance dates, refunds, and related details.

The Glendale Arts and Alex Theatre staff wish you health and safety throughout this time and look forward to seeing you back at the Alex when it is appropriate for us to reopen our doors.

The Sleeping Beauty is one of the greatest and most treasured story ballets of all time. Inspired by Charles Perrault’s story ‘La belle au bois dormant’ or ‘The beauty sleeping in the wood,’ Marius Petipa created this wonderful production, considered to be the most authentic of his work and the epitome of classical ballet. This cherished story, however, represents much more than just a fairytale. It is about our potential inner beauty that lies dormant, poisoned by the powers of evil, forced into hiding and left to wait to be awakened by the power of love.
