Skylight Books Presents

Senator Elizabeth Warren

  • This event has passed.

Skylight Books, Glendale Arts, and the Alex Theatre are thrilled to present Senator Elizabeth Warren as she reads from and discusses her new book This Fight Is Our Fight. Every ticket includes a pre-signed copy of the book; the program does not include a book signing.

Wanna fight? Elizabeth Warren does. The fiery U.S. Senator from Massachusetts and bestselling author offers a passionate, inspiring book about why our middle class is under siege and how we can win the fight to save it.

In This Fight Is Our Fight, the U.S. Senator from Massachusetts combines her personal story, her public advocacy for progressive values, and the stories of Americans struggling to get ahead in an inspiring call to action on behalf of the embattled middle class.

Growing up in Oklahoma, Warren benefited from strong public education and other opportunities. Now, many of these options are gone, which Warren attributes to the erosion of New Deal programs from Reagan’s economic policies to the present. Vowing to continue the fight for working families, Warren offers an illuminating account of why our middle class is under siege, and how we can win the battle to save it.

‘Washington works great for the rich and powerful who can hire armies of lawyers and lobbyists, but it is not working very well for everyone else,’ Warren said in a statement about the book. ‘America’s once-solid middle class is on the ropes, and now Donald Trump and his administration seem determined to deliver the knock-out punch. At this perilous moment in our country’s history, it’s time to fight back—and I’m looking for more people to join me.’

Written in the candid, high-spirited voice that is Warren’s trademark, This Fight Is Our Fight tells eye-opening stories about her battles in the Senate and vividly describes the experiences of hard-working Americans who have too often been given the short end of the stick. Elizabeth Warren has had enough of phony promises and a government that no longer serves its people—she won’t sit down, she won’t be silenced, and she will fight back.

Elizabeth Warren is the senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts. A former Harvard Law School professor, she is the author of ten books, including A Fighting Chance, a national bestseller that received widespread critical acclaim. One of nation’s most influential progressives, she has long been a champion of working families and the middle class. The mother of two and grandmother of three, she lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband, Bruce Mann.
